Evaluation of the strength of your lyrics of your next album

An expert song analysis that will tell you exactly how strong the storytelling on your album is and how you can take it to the next level to publish an amazing album.

For What It's Worth.

Do you spend all your time putting tons of money and time into the promotion of your songs trying to get better album sales and reach more people?

We all know that we can't make money if we don't put in the work.

But which is better?

Better to push a song that's okay, or better to use the time and write a song that has real potential to become a hit?

The answer is clear.

But what only not many people consider is that the success of a song does not only depend on the music. But also how convincing and poignant the lyrics of the song are!

What almost no one understands about songwriting is the importance of the concept of storytelling.

It's time to go back to the basics.

To write a bestselling album, you only have to focus on two things:

  1. Staying true to yourself by delivering on what your existing fans love about you
  2. And writing engaging songs that make a difference by moving people and connecting with them through the power of your lyrics.

Do that and you're good to go.

Tell Me ...

Does this sound familiar to you?

You are finished (or nearly finished) with writing the songs for your album, but something doesn't feel right. You know you need to re-work some songs, but you don't know where to start—so you haven't.

You are not sure if your listeners will be able to relate to what your songs are about or if they will care at all, but you don't know how or what you can improve in order for your songs to better resonate with your audience.

You’ve taken songwriting classes, read books, listened to podcasts, and gone to conferences, but you still don’t know if the stories told in your songs are any good. You wish someone could just tell you what you're doing well and what you need to work on improving.

You're feeling stuck in your creative work and you don't know how to beat resistance. Something is keeping you from taking real action, but you don't know what or why.

You've received a bunch of notes from others about which songs are strong enough to be released as singles or should be included on the album, but they aren't specific and you worry you might choose wrong.

FAQ

If you don't see an answer to your question, you can send me an email from my contact form.

Don't worry! Of course, it's best to do the analysis before you go into the studio to record your album. But if you've already recorded some songs and you worry that the lyrics are not strong enough to engage your audience, then please reach out to me. I can check your album and give you concrete and actionable feedback so that you can improve the rest of the songs without re-recording the others.

I am a Story Grid Certified Editor. That means Shawn Coyne personally trained me. He is an editor with over 30+ years of experience in editing manuscripts and has worked in the "Big 5" publishing houses. He created the Story Grid methodology that helps storytellers evaluate the structure of a story, identify the strengths and weaknesses, and give the writer the next steps to improve their story.

I have taken that knowledge of a story editor and, through my studies of song lyrics, combined it into a powerful system that leads to compelling and meaningful song lyrics. For more information about how to write powerful lyrics, check out my Powerful Lyrics Masterclass.

I focus on the lyrics of the songs and not on the implementation of the music. So it's totally fine if you send me the lyrics in a Word-Document or in a PDF via email.

Absolutely! Let's get on the phone and discuss what keeps you from getting started.

Write me an email and include

  • your name
  • artist name
  • your struggles and goals
  • 2-3 times and dates that work for you so we can have a call

and we'll talk about your current work in progress, previous releases, and how I can help!

Yes, of course! Let's get on the phone and talk about your songs.

Write me an email and include

and we'll talk about your current work in progress, previous releases, and how I can help!

You can also work with me on an album together. We can brainstorm central ideas and concepts, talk about the stories for each song and write the lyrics that will engage your listeners in what you want to express in your songs.

You can send me 10 or 15 songs depending on the plan you choose. Even if you just want to release 7 songs on your album, you can still use the other empty slots to send me the lyrics of other songs you've worked on. By analyzing all of the songs, you will get a clear overview of the songs that tell the strongest stories. Maybe a song that you thought was B-side material is so strong, that you should put it on an album, or switched with another track on the album that is not as strong.

So this is your chance to find the strongest songs for your album.

Yes, absolutely. You don't have to have the music ready in order to apply for the analysis of your songs. I focus only on the lyrics and not on the melody or the musical implementation. So send me the lyrics of the songs as a word document or PDF.

When working together, I focus on consulting, coaching, and writing lyrics together because I believe everyone has a story to tell. And I want to support you to be able to tell what you need to express in your songs. So I'd love to work WITH you to help you write powerful and captivating lyrics.

Yes, I do. Na klar! I'm a German native speaker, and I'd love to work with you
